La Famille idéale (Sahel)

I led the team that created this board game that revolutionized husband-wife conversations about contraception in the Sahel region of Sub-Saharan Africa. The game increased access to family planning in places where women often don’t have a choice. The project was designed and piloted in Burkina Faso, and soon after scaled to Senegal, Mali, and Niger.

The project included building the competence of field partners in Human-Centered Design. It was a collaboration between IDEO.org and Marie Stopes International with The Hewlett Foundation.

More about the project from the implementation partners.
